The Cell Tower is Back !

Sick I feel hearing this issue is back on the minds of our local government. Rumours have been flooding in that our local police chiefum is bringing this issue of a cell tower resurrection back on the minds of our selectman ( that is a surprise with a 100% control on the board eh?).

This Cell atrocity tower was originally planed to go behind the fire station, so everyone from miles around could see! Great idea huh, especially right after we just spent millions on a new library , Nothing seems better to me than having a giant Felic symbol sticking up 1000 ft looming over the library. But as we all know, the town voted this tower down. Not just by a close call, but with a large majority of the vote no less.

If the chiefum wants this tower so bad, why doesn't he just stick it in the police parking lot? Or better yet, in his own yard. Oh but wait, Just think of all the money we will get from it per month. I remember from the last try, there was a huge sum of money the town was going to have to put into this deal, and in these terrible times of job cuts, layoffs, salary reductions, I can tell you I'm in no mood to spend any money. What do you think?

Rose wins!

What a great feeling! With all of the negative crap Atkinson is enduring, we all can feel good about Rose C. winning the race of Town Clerk. Finally , the right person was elected for the job! Of course nobody can fill the shoes of Linda Jetty, but Rose will fill those shoes , and do a great job .
I have heard that Noriko had to apologise to Rose for what she wrote in the Eagle Tribune, but only to take it back at the end. Nice, It's like winning a car, but not getting it. Class move, but what do you expect from that camp anyhow?

This is a hate crime, and when is enough, enough?

It happened again. Mark Aciards house was vandalized over the weekend Via info on the Atkinson Reporter article on Sunday march 08. Spray paint on his house, telling Mark and his family to "move". This needs to stop. I don't care if you agree or disagree with some one, this never needs to happen to any one.

Sad Campaign for Mangini

I'm sure if anyone read the Sunday Eagle-Tribune on March 1st, would of been sickened by the article titled, "Mangini is best choice for town clerk". In the article, Noriko Yoshida-Travers suggested, Rose (Our current town clerk) was not working during the December ice storm upon electricity turning back on. Also Noriko going on and saying "They were not working, although no one from the Town Clerk's office volunteered one minute from their time to help the community."

I'm appalled that this was published, and Mangini's campaign did not need to stoop to this despicable level.

But thank you to Police officer Kevin Donnelly, for writing this letter to the editor. If you did not see it in Friday's paper, here it is ....

To the editor:

I read an article and have heard some rumors around the Town of Atkinson discrediting one of the candidates for Town Clerk, Rose Cavalear.

The Women's Civic Club of Atkinson coordinates a candidates night so the candidates can let the public know what their experience and qualifications are, but for some that is just not enough.

Some people think that it is in good manners to spread horrible rumors and write mean spirited letters to the local newspaper. This is not the way the good people of the Town of Atkinson should act. Those who think that there is nothing wrong with this behavior should be embarrassed and ashamed.

Rose Cavalear has been an asset to this Town, she treats all who enter her office with respect, follows the law at all times, and goes out of her way to make sure her staff and she are as fast and courteous as possible. Rose never says a bad word about anyone. Rose is very professional and would never break any laws or rules for any reason. She does a great job, she is dedicated, and she cares about her community.

Rose Cavalear should not have to lose her job as Town Clerk. Please join me and vote for Rose Cavalear for Town Clerk.

Debbie DeSimone, Liar, or just likes to spin the truth?

I was just reading the Atkinson Reporter in the Comments under the "Vote for Valerie" article, and i read something that I thought should get some attention. Here was the comment...
But who are you voting for Tax Collector;

Debbie stated at candidates night that she was elected twice , and I think she said unanimously, or overwhelmingly, or something like that. She forgot to mention that she ran unopposed both times!

Of course she got the votes, she was the only name on the ballot!

Now i feel she did did not tell the real truth. She spun the facts on candidate's nite to sound like she won her elections with "Overwhelming support". But the truth is she ran with no one else on the ballot. Nice Spin , don't you think? I'm not buying it, I am going to vote for a candidate who does not spin anything. Sharon Boyle is getting my vote for Tax Collector!

Voter's are given a choice!

Last nite was our yearly "Meet the Candidate's nite"! For those who haven't heard, Leon Artist dropped out of the selectman race, due to a civil lawsuit against the town and himself. Conflict of interest, and so, Bill Bennett is the only candidate running for selectman on the ballot. But last nite, Valerie Tobin launched a "Write-In" campaign so the people of Atkinson can have a choice. Valerie reported to have received phone calls from local citizen's asking her to run for selectman. Last year Valerie lost the selectman's race by less than 30 votes to Bill Friel.

Both of the candidates are very qualified, but there is one problem with Bill Bennett that has my concern. From what i have heard, our Police Chief contacted Bill to run for selectman. Now we all know from prior history, who the chief supports, ends up (if elected) not doing anything to stand in the chiefs way. In my opinion, after all we have been subject to , our town can't afford to elect anyone who stands with the chief.

So that leaves us with Valerie as the only independent candidate with no ties to the Chief, and will do the best job for the town of Atkinson. Write-in campaigns are difficult to win, but with growing support for change, this write-in candidate has a great chance to win.

Don't take my picture! "I'm not famous", but stop taking my Picure!"

RSA 91-A:2, II. states;

II. Subject to the provisions of RSA 91-A:3, all meetings, whether held in person, by means of telephone or electronic communication, or in any other manner, shall be open to the public. Except for town meetings, school district meetings, and elections, no vote while in open session may be taken by secret ballot. Any person shall be permitted to use recording devices, including, but not limited to, tape recorders, cameras, and videotape equipment, at such meetings

OK then, then tell me, what was going through Franks head on this "Photo" issue? Just days after being notified on a Civil Lawsuit, Frank just opened his mouth and inserted his BigFoot. Stopping photo's from being taken by a citizen, but letting a Eagle Tribune reporter take pictures? Man, or should i say Geese, this is a ridiculous example of bully behavior of a (one way) political machine in Atkinson. This is just a piece of the video to come.

Atkinson gets served with impending Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit!

1/28/09
If you have not heard, Atkinson selectman got served with an impending Federal Civil Rights lawsuit today! Former congressman and NH Supreme Court Justice, Charles G. Douglas is leading the latest charge against the Chief, with a list of past abuses that is unforgivable. Here is a portion of the letter that fits right in with the articles posted here on the Factor in the last few weeks.

"Shortly thereafter, the citizens who were contacted by Chief Consentino began attempting to withdraw their signatures as a result of his intimidating communications with them. Gail Spellman requested that her name, along with the names of Dorothy Goldstein, Thomas Spellman, and Robert Spellman, be removed. Mr. and Mrs. Everitt Smith went to the Town Offices, and apparently received assistance from Town Officials in writing a letter to the Selectmen requesting that their names be withdrawn from the petitioned warrant articles concerning the Police Chief and Elderly Affairs positions. The Goldstein family received a call from Chief Consentino, who demanded to know “what is your family doing signing this shit?” The next day Dorothy Goldstein was among those seeking to remove her name from the petition."

"Chief Consentino’s use of his authority as Police Chief and director of the Elderly Affairs office to intimidate Atkinson citizens into remaining silent on issues in which he has a personal interest constitutes an abuse of his office and a violation of those citizens’ and Mr. Artus’ civil rights. His conduct with regard to the citizen-petitioned warrant articles filed in January of 2009 would be alarming enough if it were the first time it had ever happened. However, as the Board of Selectmen is well aware, Police Chief Consentino has a long and well-documented history of abusing his position to silence his political opposition. What is arguably worse is the equally long and well-documented history of the Board’s complicity in the Chief’s tactics of intimidation and bullying. The Town of Atkinson has a nearly three decades old record of allowing Chief Consentino to engage in abuses of power and coercion of citizens who dare to stand up to him."

And so,
the end is near,
and i can hear,
but a large lady singing in the far,
and getting closer,
and is sweet music to my ear.

Somebody call the FBI! Chief admits to electioneering!

Oh my god! You want your proof, here you have it! Eagle tribune today has an article on the proposed warrant articles here in Atkinson. And here is the quote direct from the Chiefs mouth.......

"The chief said when he saw the petition last week, he called three people who signed it to ask them why they had and if they knew it would be the end of his job. That same day, he said, he received a letter from an elderly resident, thanking him for his help during the ice storm. Consentino said he was surprised to see her name on a petition that oust him from his job."

Anyone who doubted the Atkinson Reporters info, here you have it smack in the face. This is called Electioneering folks, it is against the law. And your police chief is admitting to breaking the law. The fulltime police chief is looking better and better, don't ya think?

You better change your stance, or else?

A new petition has been passed in for a proposed warrant article on a full time police chief here in Atkinson. It's about time i say, but already rumours have been reported on the Atkinson Reporter2, of Chiefobigumheado calling petitioners demanding them to take their names off. "Only In Atkinson" Ed Naile writes ! I am having some real issues with Chiefo calling and harassing people whom signed a petition on this matter. Who does this guy really think he is? He is using his police chief badge to scare people to change their position. This is wrong. Very wrong, And should show anyone reading this, that he is a huge problem for any citizen in Atkinson .

Do what i say and your life will be fine. If you don't do what your told, their will be hell to pay for you. This is what living in Atkinson is at this time. How important is this new proposed Warrant article on a full time police chief? Well let me ask you this, If you enjoy living in a Nazi Germany atmosphere of fear of speaking up, then you won't want to support this new warrant article. But if you believe in your right to speak freely among your peers, then you need to support a full time police Chief position.

Chiefobigumheado's actions have put us here. He has no one to blame but himself. I do know that allot of us Atkinsonians are tired of his behavior, and would like to have a real professional do the job of Police Chief of Atkinson.

ICE STORM FROM HELL, AND WE GET TO PAY FOR IT?

Wow, this storm was the worst i can ever remember. For those without a power generator, this has been a cold week. For those who don't have power, hopefully you will soon.

After reading the Tribune today, i feel like the Unitil crowd has made a move that i did not see coming. Unitil is now saying, that all of us customers, will be paying for this mess. Talk about kicking us while we are down eh?

Let me ask this question then...Who's job is it to maintain lines and tree's hanging over the power lines? Is it the home owner, or the power company? Easy choice , the power company that takes our money is responsible. After years of taking their profits without maintaining their lines, and the trees overhanging them, has lead to some of this mess.

Now I'm not blaming this whole thing on Unitil, but putting the cost on all of us isn't fair. Unitil is supplying us the power for a cost, they are responsible for any repairs to their lines. Unitil has been getting their ridiculous high rates for years now.....Take those profits over those past years, and pay for it.

Elderly Affairs with a proposed 40,000.00 budget? But then again, this job is so easy, even a bigfoot can do it!

Monday nites meeting at the selectman's office was indeed interesting. Chiefum bigumheado has proposed an increase from 19k to 40,000.00 for elderly affairs. Now i was always under the impression that the elderly affair car transport division was a volunteer based program, funded by the town of Atkinson. But it seems that this program has become, an out of control program directed by the Chief of police. Even with direct orders from the AG office to separate, the chief still occupies both positions and the Elderly affair unit is still under the police stations roof. I thought "separate" was to move out of the police station, and have a different director? Anyone else have this same idea?

This whole situation is very similar to when Chiefo was a selectman and a police chief , you know, voting on police matters as a selectman etc... It just seems the chief loves to do what he wants without any regard to the law and ethic.
Now back to the elderly affair program. This program should be moved to the community center with a volunteer based staff. I am sure if the town advertised this, many people would love to join in and be volunteers . This will save the town allot of money in a time that all of us are feeling the pain of loss of 401k's and stock market, and housing markets...

As far as dispatching, any Monkey with a cell phone could manage the arrangements of providing a ride for a elderly rider. This is not rocket science, this is a glorified taxi service at the moment.
look at the video below, If Bigfoot can do it, anyone with a cell phone could do it.

Chief calls out for 40k for future budget of Elderly Affairs!

To anyone who didn't believe the reports from the Atkinson Reporter2 about being able to pay for the elderly affairs program with only 19k, well now here is the proof! Chief came out and asked for over 40k to pay for the elderly affairs in last nites meeting. Over 20k just for payroll, interesting to say the least, when last year he did all of those transports and buying gas, paying employee's with only 19k. Brings up the question, where did the rest of the money come from?
The Chief also tried to call the new detailed cars "Police Division of Elderly Affairs". Does that sound like separation from the police dept to you? The Chief also says in the Selectman meeting that "Elderly Affairs will always be run by the police dept". This guy will be defiant to the end. Watch for yourself below, I couldn't make this up if i tried!

Water wars, HAWC vs Atkinson Residents, and now, selectman are involed!

posted on the Atkinson Reporter 2
Posted at Atkinson Town Hall:

Atkinson Farm Inc. (Lewis Builders) submission of an Application for Formal Consideration and Approval for Site Plan for proposed 9 HOLE EXECUTIVE PAR 3 GOLD COURSE adjacent to Clubhouse Drive, Atkinson Resort & Country Club

Ah, the truth compels another reason for massive water withdrawals within Atkinson from Lewis Builders owned company HAWC. Another thing to supply water for eh? Watering more grass seems to be in need for future golf course's? How many golf courses do we need anyway? I wonder how the planing board feels about this proposed project? Oh yeah, planing board member Mr Dimaggio, whom we all know how he feels about water withdrawals, watch the video here on the factor or on the Atkinson Reporter2. And also Harold Morse is on the planing board, and how convenient, he is also on the Water companies payroll, married to a lewis daughter etc.....One way street there.
Do you feel like the process is going to fail for fair and serious consideration?

But here we have another twist that has been longly anticipated, the selectman tonight have finally read a letter that is going to the state within the next few days stating they are going to take any means necessary to defend Atkinsons water supply from massive water withdrawals. Video below shows Chaiman Paul Sullivan reading the draft of the letter to be sent.

Water Wars, Residents well drys up. yours could be next?

Reported on the Eagle Tribune on Sunday, 5th of Oct.

Here is a caption from today's article in the tribune. I'm not going to post the whole article, Atkinsonreporter2 has all of the details.

Brandon Kernen, of the DES groundwater withdrawal bureau, said water companies are tightly regulated and the state already prevents groundwater withdrawals from drying out water supplies.

"It just isn't allowed under the law," Kernen said. "We've been very successful in protecting private water supplies with permits we've issued."

In the past, large water withdrawals in Stratham resulted in some private wells needing to be redrilled because they were too shallow, and the state paid for those wells to be redrilled, Kernen said.

"There have been issues, and we've dealt with them successfully," he said.

But many local residents are still concerned about their water supplies. The new ordinances in Atkinson were approved overwhelmingly, and Newton residents filled a local gym during a hearing in June on a water franchise request from Hampstead Area Water Company.

Some Newton residents have said they are already experiencing water pressure problems. Patty Stephan said she needed to have a new well drilled at her home on Kenwood Drive within the last year because the water pressure was too low to use the shower.

"There already are water problems," she said, "and it's only going to get worse with more development."

Ok then! here is the first confirmed well that has needed re drilling due to water withdrawals. The article in the paper didn't say if the HAWC volunteered to pay for the re drilling. But i have a feeling that the HAWC didn't. From meetings in the past, the HAWC has said it would hook up a dried up home to the system. Nice solution for the HAWC, they get a new customer for drying up their competition. And another note of interest, this summer has been very wet, with a ton of rainfall. Next year we might not be so lucky, and if we have a dry 2009, how many homes will be dry then?

Newton fights Water world, but Atkinson officals act like France?

Newton tightens up water regulations

By Jarret Bencks
jbencks@eagletribune.com

NEWTON — Any company or individual applying for a water franchise or personal well will now have to go through the town's Planning Board before submitting an application to the state.

Planners on Tuesday unanimously approved new rules aimed at giving the town more authority over its water supply and more notice upon submissions of water franchise requests.

The rules, submitted by board alternate and Rep. Mary Allen, restrict companies or individuals from trucking or piping water from Newton to be used elsewhere.

The new rules also require any organization seeking a water franchise in town to notify the Planning Board. If it does not approve the water franchise, the request could still go to the state, but the Planning Board would notify the Department of Environmental Services of its disapproval, Allen said.

This summer, Hampstead Area Water Co. submitted a request to the state for a 642-acre franchise in Newton to supply water to the Sargent Woods development and nearby homes.

The company reduced its proposal to just the 66 acres the development sits on after a public hearing in July, where many residents and officials voiced their objections. The scaled-back proposal for water withdrawal was approved by the Public Utilities Commission on Aug. 8.

Atkinson residents also have taken action in an attempt to protect the town's water supply. Voters overwhelmingly approved new ordinances that adopted the town's water withdrawal ordinance as a health ordinance, and put restrictions on water withdrawals in town during a Special Town Meeting earlier this month.

Selectmen and Planning Board members in Atkinson have objected to the new ordinances, asserting they are illegal and could bring the town into a long legal battle.

Newton Planning Board member Jim Doggett said he believes the rules in his town are within state regulations. "If you read our set of rules, they're very simple in language," Doggett said. "They are in our regulations and I think the Planning Board is willing to defend them."

Atkinson-Factor says,

Nice article about Newtons fight with the HAWC, and how about our town officals here in Atkinson? From what i have seen with Fred Childs actions and his public quotes on the matter, he has no intention of fighting any water withdrawal from the HAWC. His behavior reminds me of the country of France back in WW11. Even after public outcry at the last selectmans meeting from concerned residents about the lack of interest in the selectmans actions on the water issue, the selectman still havn't done anything at the state level to back up what the residents voted on in early sept.

Our Planning board is against this fight over our water also, so them sticking up for what we overwhelming voted for is slim.... Harold Morse sits on the planing board and also is part of the HWAC ( Now that is a conflict of interest isn't it? ). That reason alone tells me why the planing board is against the water fight.

Atkinson should be the leading town fighting this battle, but our officals are doing absolutly nothing. All they can say is, " We will take it under advisement".

Articles Pass!

Voters yesterday overwhelmingly voted in the warrant articles yesterday by a 70% margin. That is a landslide victory for Atkinson residents to defend our water from being pumped out of Atkinson for profits by the HAWC water world. Voter turnout was higher than exspected as well.

Attention to all Voters of Atkinson! No time to spare!

Change is in the air for the taxpayers of Atkinson?

Selectman meeting held tonight was electric with resistance from the Atkinson Police chief in regards to the elderly affairs , and how the program is run. Anyone who looks on the outside in, can clearly see the elderly affairs program needs to be a separate identity from the police dept. Donation accounts that have been managed illegally , Non accurate figures of expenditures, and the list goes on. Finally the chairman of the selectman is asking questions, and looking for actions to fix this ongoing problem. Watch the video, and measure for yourself why the police chief would be so rude as to interrupt and act so childishly. Why would the police chief resist to such a simple solution of restructuring the elderly affairs program? There is more to this story than meets the eye, and transparency is the only way for everyone to know what everything costs, and to make this program better for the elderly of Atkinson. The police chiefs resistance to this, brings up more questions of what is he hiding from Atkinson?
