Water Wars, Residents well drys up. yours could be next?

Reported on the Eagle Tribune on Sunday, 5th of Oct.

Here is a caption from today's article in the tribune. I'm not going to post the whole article, Atkinsonreporter2 has all of the details.

Brandon Kernen, of the DES groundwater withdrawal bureau, said water companies are tightly regulated and the state already prevents groundwater withdrawals from drying out water supplies.

"It just isn't allowed under the law," Kernen said. "We've been very successful in protecting private water supplies with permits we've issued."

In the past, large water withdrawals in Stratham resulted in some private wells needing to be redrilled because they were too shallow, and the state paid for those wells to be redrilled, Kernen said.

"There have been issues, and we've dealt with them successfully," he said.

But many local residents are still concerned about their water supplies. The new ordinances in Atkinson were approved overwhelmingly, and Newton residents filled a local gym during a hearing in June on a water franchise request from Hampstead Area Water Company.

Some Newton residents have said they are already experiencing water pressure problems. Patty Stephan said she needed to have a new well drilled at her home on Kenwood Drive within the last year because the water pressure was too low to use the shower.

"There already are water problems," she said, "and it's only going to get worse with more development."

Ok then! here is the first confirmed well that has needed re drilling due to water withdrawals. The article in the paper didn't say if the HAWC volunteered to pay for the re drilling. But i have a feeling that the HAWC didn't. From meetings in the past, the HAWC has said it would hook up a dried up home to the system. Nice solution for the HAWC, they get a new customer for drying up their competition. And another note of interest, this summer has been very wet, with a ton of rainfall. Next year we might not be so lucky, and if we have a dry 2009, how many homes will be dry then?

Another thing, Did the State help this homeowner? Does not say if they did?

Regarding your poll on my presence, does the fact that my position is supported by both the DES and the Attorney General's Office count for anything?

I don't have a problem with any of your postings. Your info is informative and is good to know for being educated on RSA's.

What does count is that we Atkinsonians are not permitted to post on Springer's Danville blog so why should he be allowed to post on ours. He intrudes himself on to our blog constantly. His double standard is pure hypocracy.

Even if Atkinsonians weren't banned from His blog as are we and other non-Danville residents, the simple fact is that Atkinsonians have enought class to respect the right of the people in other towns to do what they feel is right and necessary for their towns without our butting in and telling them they're wrong.

Atkinsonians would NEVER butt themselves into Danville's affairs since that would be very pushy, discourteous and rude. Yet Springer won't show us the same respect and common courtesy.

The only time Springer posts on our blog always deals with our election issues which are none of his business.

Springer butts in with postings always right before our elections to try to influence our elction issues voting and then after our elections to knock how we voted and tell us how wrong we are to try to stand up to DES.

Springer seems to live to read our blog and then crap on us and what is important to us. He can't seem to get it through his head that we don't care what he things or feel that we need his approval for anything.

He's not an Atkinson resident but has a fixation on us that he can't seem to butt out of our business or respect our right to think and act got ourselves without his telling us what to do or constantly trying to influence our actions.

His own townspeople don't listen to him and rarely post on his blog.
Why is that?

Why can't he just accept the fact that his constant interference into other town's business is not wanted or appreciated. Springer was so obnoxious with his postings on the Plaistow blog that he got banned from posting.

He recently also used the Atkinson Factor to criticize Newton's actions to protect their water.

Springer should try respecting our right to post on our blog without forcing himself on us.

The comments of Anonymous 8:26 are noteworthy and significant. But what overwhelmingly annoys me about Danville's Springer's constant posting on Atkinson's blog is the fact that he says the same thing over and over and over and over and over.

Check the archives. Read all of his postings. They're just about word for word. It's like he has it already typed out and merely keeps hitting the INSERT button over and over again.

He says how we Atkinsonians are so wrong in our citizen's initiative actions to protect our ground water (even though that's our choice to make and not his). He then goes on to cite the same RSA which he cites over and over and over again.

In any case, Atkinson residents aren't the stupid people Springer acts like we are -- so stupid that he keeps posting at us, the same post with the same comments over and over and over.

Watch Springer's future postings if he's allowed to do his "repeater postings." All of his postings will tell us (and other towns taking action to protect their water) how wrong we are and then he will again cite the same old RSA as he does over and over and over and over again.

Springer has a very serious perseveration problem (a not able to say anything but what he has constantly already said--over and over and over again.

Our blog is not the place he should pander to his problem.

SpeakoutDanville actually does allow nonresidents to join as a special exception to the general rule of having some connection to Danville. The chairman of the Atkinson conservation commission is a member of SoD and has posted there.

And SoD is not "Springer's Danville blog." I am one of four people who does administration and sets policy.

I don't know what the basis is for saying that Danville people don't post on SoD. We have 130 registered members and there are discussions going on all the time.

We are the only local web site to allow its stats to be viewed by one and all. Our vendor made some changes, so I'm not sure if you can get to the latest stats:
stats as of 10/08

If you can't get to those, the old URL definitely works for the year ending 2/08:
stats as of 2/08.

Once in a while other sites have bragged about their stats, and they have always been a fraction of our traffic.

Of course the reality is that none of our sites actually attract more than single digit percentages of the overall population. If you really want to reach the adult population of any of the towns in our area, I have always said that the best thing to do is write a letter to the editor of the Carriage Towne News.

How many of Springer's Danville friends has he gotten to support him by sending their non-resident votes to the poll in support of him?

Why is he so intent on butting into Atkinson's business?

Hey, I thought one of you said that nobody listens to me in Danville. :-)
